This documentary explores the controversy over the future of  Lifta, on the outskirts of Jerusalem, a place haunted by history. The site of fierce fighting between Zionists and Arab nationalists during the British Mandate period, Lifta is the only Arab village abandoned in 1948  that has not been completely destroyed or repopulated. In 2011, after Israeli authorities approved initial plans to demolish the village to make way for a luxury development, some of Lifta’s former Arab residents, joined by some Jewish activists, petitioned to stop the demolition. Produced by Menachem Daum and Oren Rudavsky.
