Come for a child-oriented performance of Native American folktales … Thanksgiving from another perspective!
In recognition and honor of Native American Heritage Month and Thanksgiving, Scoville Memorial Library has invited master storyteller Sara deBeer to tell us stories. We will hear of the celebrations the yearly cycle of Thanksgiving celebrations observed by the Algonquin peoples including the Maple Syrup Thanksgiving, the Green Bean Thanksgiving, and the Strawberry Thanksgiving.
Sara deBeer has been a board member of the Connecticut Storytelling Center since its inception and she is listed in the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism’s Directory of Performing Artists and Connecticut’s directory of outstanding performing artists. An experienced classroom teacher with degrees from Yale and Bank Street, she has performed in libraries, senior centers, hospitals, parks, museums, classrooms, theaters, school auditoriums, and daycare centers.
