Best for ages 9 through 14

This fun origami class is coming to you all the way from Yuka in New Zealand and Hatsuki in Japan! Have you ever read Japanese mythology? Japanese mythology is loosely based on the beliefs of Shintoism and Buddhism. Simplified versions of the myths are shared commonly as bedtime stories. Together, we will be folding origami as Yuka and Hatsuki share Japanese folklore and parts of our childhood with us. We will be making animals related to Japanese folklore and traditional games.

You do not need to attend every session. Please feel free to come! No prior experience needed.

Materials Note:  If you do not have origami paper on hand, please use wrapping paper, Xerox paper, newspaper or any light weight paper cut into 5”x5” squares (or larger) and have scissors and a glue stick on hand.  It will be very helpful to have papers precut and ready to go for class prior to each session.
