Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton will show two Oswald the Rabbit cartoons — Oswald was Walt Disney’s highly successful animated creation before he did Mickey Mouse. Children will be given small instruments and we will rehearse and play a soundtrack to the cartoons!
The children watch for moments in the cartoons where their instruments can be played, shaken, hit, banged, and strummed to enhance the action. The kids love to “own” a moment and match it with their own particular sound, and they learn to anticipate their turns happily.
The Sosin’s will also perform their own music to accompany a short comedy.
For over two decades Lakeville residents Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton  have brought their unique blend of original music to major film festivals—New York, Telluride, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, TriBeCa, Denver, Virginia—and to MoMA, BAM, the Wadsworth Atheneum, MFA Boston, and the Berlin Filmmuseum. They have played  for films in Moscow, South Korea, Odessa, and Canada. They are favorite guest artists at the National Gallery and at Italy’s annual silent film retrospectives in Bologna and Pordenone, and they have dozens of silent films on DVD. Together they teach songwriting and film music workshops at schools and colleges all over the USA.
