Event Details

Join best-selling author and knitting expert Bruce Weinstein to learn a fun new stitch that you can use to knit cozy slipper socks or other woolen wear. Stay warm in the New Year!

Materials needed

Bulky yarn lets you knit up these comfy slipper socks in no time. You can use your double point needles or bring a 40” circular and Bruce will show you how to do these using the magic loop. You’ll need 175 yards of a super chunky yarn in color A and another 40 yards in color B. The yarn should give you about 9.5 stitches in stockinette over a 4” swatch.  Remember your double points or extra-long circular needles (at least 40”) so you can knit in the round. Yarn suggestion: Lion brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick.

Recommended for knitters with some experience.

This workshop session was rescheduled from December 17th. If you signed up for December 17th, your reservation is good for January 7th.

This workshop is offered free to all participants, thanks to generous support from the Friends of the Scoville Library and from library patrons like you.

Bruce Weinstein is a knitting expert and the best-selling author of KNITS MEN WANT: The 10 Rules Everyone Needs to Know Before Knitting for a Man, and BOYFRIEND SWEATERS: 19 designs for Him that You’ll Want to Wear.
