Registration has closed for this series. If you're interested in joining a future series, please write to kvrotsos@scovillelibrary.org. Instruction is free and the library has a limited number of guitars to loan for each 8-week series.

Start your classical guitar journey in this small group lesson series with instructor Matthew Pearson. This series is for absolute beginners and is open to adults and to young adults (ages 16 and up).

You’ll learn the fundamentals of the instrument, the strings, notes, and righthand finger patterns and techniques. Students will be able to progress at their own pace, and we will support each other in developing our skills. Please be prepared to commit to regular practice. It will make a big difference in your progress!

Matthew Pearson is an experienced amateur classical guitarist and has taught large group classes at a high school in Manhattan. He started classical guitar at age nine and still treasures his first classical guitar, made by Rokutaro Nakade. He is a retired banker and a Salisbury resident.

This series is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Scoville Library and by library friends like you.
