Event Details
In this fun, hands-on, exploratory workshop with genealogist Jane Sellery you’ll learn some basics of genealogical research and create a profile for a real Salisbury resident who lived during the Revolutionary War era.
With Jane's guidance, you'll learn to use online ancestry tools and accessible public information to uncover past lives. You might even be able to publish your genealogical profile in Connecticut Ancestry.
Jane Muir Sellery is a professional genealogist based in Salisbury. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Professional Genealogists Council (ctprofgen.org) and the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Ancestry Society (connecticutancestry.org). Jane is the Editor of Connecticut Ancestry and has contributed to exhibitions at the Salisbury Association.
Registration is required and space is limited.
This workshop meets for two Thursdays: January 22nd and 29th, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Please note that sign-up is for both sessions: Part 2 builds on the learning and research of Part 1.
Please bring a laptop that can connect to the library’s free WiFi. If you can't bring a laptop, please let us know in advance. Send an email to kvrotsos@scovillelibrary.org and we will arrange for you to use a library computer.
